Charleston, South Carolina, is one of our favorite places to visit! So, it was no surprise Chad picked this for his Birthday location. If you're wondering how old he is, let's just say we now have access to more RV Parks. 😳

Charleston Food!

Charelston has some of the best restaurants we've been to, and we tried a few new ones this time around.

Chad's birthday meals included brunch at “Toast All Day,” which was just meh. There was nothing special about our food there. But, for dinner, we went to The Boathouse in Isle Of Palms, which was spectacular for both food and atmosphere.

After our tour of Fort Sumter, we ate dinner at Saltwater Cowboys on Shem Creek. Our ferry captain (for the tour) must have mentioned Shem Creek fifty times and specifically mentioned the “trash can nachos!” His subliminal ploy worked and we went directly to that exact item for dinner! It was delicious!

Fort Sumter

Fort Sumter is one of those places we've wanted to check out for a while. After all, this is our third or fourth time in Charleston. To tour the Fort, you can catch a ferry from downtown Charleston or Patriots Point in Mount Pleasant as we did.

We've shown Patriots Point the last time we were in town, touring the USS Yorktown. If you missed that, see the link below.

The whole tour was excellent, from the ferry ride to the fort itself! The ferry captain and the park ranger were excellent at telling the story of the fort and how the Civil War started right on that very ground. Be sure to watch the video for all of the history. We learned a lot, and highly recommend this tour!

Coming Up!

Next week, we will continue to explore Charleston and take a walking tour, then head to our next location in the Reflection 28RL!
