Mountain Top Zip Line! (Smokey Mountains with Family) (RV Life)

Our original October 2020 plans had us booked at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. Of course, COVID-19 had something to say about that and it was canceled! 😞 Since Chad's daughters were planning their annual visit to New Mexico, we wanted to stay somewhere they could easily drive.

If you've followed our channel for a while, you might know we have family in the Smokey Mountains of North Carolina, so we figured why not meet up there and have the whole family together. Of course, we were safe and all got COVID tests so we could hang out without social distancing.

Since we've shown this area in a couple of videos now, we were on the search for new things to do, for us and something new to show you! 😊

Clayton Georgia

We've driven through Clayton many many times over the years but have never checked it out. Since we were headed that way to hike Talullah Gorge (which we never made it to), we decided to check out the downtown and have some lunch at Universal Joint.

After lunch, we decided to head to Black Rock Mountain State Park and take in the views, then head to see our friends at 12 Spies Vineyards.

Lake Nantahala

While this activity is a repeat, we wanted to share it anyway because it was so much fun! We rented a pontoon boat at Lakes end Marina for a couple of hours and just toured the whole lake.

Mountaintop Zip Line Tour

One of the highlights of this visit was certainly the Mountaintop Zip Line Tour! This is no ordinary zip line tour. This course goes out into the forrest, zipping from treetop to treetop. The best part of the tour is the 1/2 mile long zip that carries you 350 over the forrest between two mountains! This segment can reach speeds over 45 MPH! What a blast!

Rufus Morgan Trail

Our last outing while the girls were visiting was a hike on Rufus Morgan Trail to see Rufus Morgan Falls. After about an hour on the moderate trail, we finally found the 60ft waterfall.

Per usual, we had a really great time visiting family and taking on new adventures. We'll definitely be back to the area and find even more to do!
