Since Chad and I had never been, our plan for this past summer was to explore the states of New England. This New England adventure started in Mystic, Connecticut! We left our family and friends in Ohio and made the two-day trip to Mystic (via some very rough roads), with a stop over in Pennsylvania. We stayed at Seaport RV Resort in Old Mystic. Although this campground was very nice, we were a bit disappointed when we realized that we did not have a sewer connection, despite being told we had full hookups (you can watch our video “Full Hookup Lies” for more details). However, the park was accommodating and offered a “honey wagon” service to pump out our lines twice a week. Seaport RV Resort offered many large, pull-thru sites (ours was #78), a nice pool, putt-putt, a playground for the kids and beautiful grounds. In addition, the park was only 4 miles from the historic Mystic Seaport!
For the majority of our visit, the weather was wet and gloomy, but we were still able to get out on the motorcycle on several different occasions. We rode out to Watch Hill, Rhode Island, Noank, CT (dinner at Abbott’s Lobster in the Rough) and Lyme, CT. It was such a beautiful area to get out and explore on Lucile!! On a Friday evening after work, we went into Mystic Seaport and walked around the area. We popped into Barley Head Brewery, Mystic Pizza and had dinner at Anthony J’s (YUM)!
Chad was able to complete a much needed project, while in Mystic….replacing part of our screen door with plexiglass, to keep Miss Daisy from tearing up the screen. This was also the scene of our “Great Ranch Dressing Mishap of 2108” (what a mess!) You’ll have to watch to find out what happens!
The first stop on our way up the New England coast was awesome and had us excited to get to our next destination, Plymouth, Massachusetts!
