After spending the first week in Las Vegas exploring things off of the Vegas Strip, it was time we went into town. We were still traveling with Phil and Stacy of You, Me, and the RV, so you know the fun was going to continue!

Venetian Gondola Ride

None of us had taken the gondola ride at the Venetian Hotel and Casino, so that seemed like a great place to start. It was also the beginning of July, so we needed to stay out of the sweltering heat as much as possible.  Since you cannot reserve your gondola ride tickets in advance online (at least not at that time), our first stop was to find the ticket office.

Our gondola ride, although short, was still a fun experience. Our gondolier Marco, was informative and made the excursion fun. We even got spotted by some of our viewers while we were in the boat!

Freemont Street Slotzilla Zip Line!

Our next adventure was down to Fremont Street at the Fremont Street Experience! We walked around through the crowds, grabbed a bite to eat, and then finished off our night by zip-lining above Fremont street on Slotzilla! We chose the Superman zip line where we flew over the crowds. It was a lot of fun!

More Vegas!

Since we ended up extending our time in Vegas, Tara decided to take a week and fly home to see her family in Ohio.  While she was in Ohio, Chad, Phil, and Stacy continued on having a great time. They went back to the Underground Speakeasy that we visited at the Mob Museum and they also got to go back to the Neon Boneyard at night! Those neon signs are even more amazing at night!

They also got to go to Area 15, which is a huge entertainment complex! Inside Area 15 you will find a variety of exhibits and attractions including virtual reality,  zip line, arcade, bar and distillery, and so much more. The main reason they went there was to throw some axes 🪓 at the Dueling Axes. (Something Tara was totally jealous about 😜 )

Hoover Dam

Another thing Chad got to do was take a tour of the Hoover Dam! This is a must-see while in Vegas! This was another experience that you have to reserve in person and cannot do ahead of time online. They suggest getting there early (the welcome center opens at 9 am) to buy tickets. This was another tour that Tara was sad to miss, but she had a great time with her family on the 4th of July.

Despite being in Las Vegas at probably the worst time of the year, we all had a lot of fun! There’s still so much more to do and see in that area and we will definitely be back. Just not in the summertime 😜

Next stop…San Diego!
