While we had a great time exploring local restaurants, wineries, and shops (and hill country) in Fredericksburg, Texas, our time at Firefly Resort was marred by very loud construction just yards from our site! 😞

Even though our complaints fell on apathetic ears (see video for details), we still managed to make the best of our time!

Exploring with Friends

One of the reasons we picked a site next to a tiny home was to visit with our long time friends who now live in the Dallas area. They came down to visit and we got out (away from the construction) and enjoyed exploring some local activities.

One rainy day, we got out to Fredericksburg Trade Days. Trade Days is “7 barns of Antiques, collectibles, tools, crafts, shabby chic, primitives, ranch furniture, hunting accessories, candles, unique clothing, jewelry, food, and so much more.”

We then headed to the Rhinory, a Rhino sanctuary and winery where you can taste wine and watch a Rhino! Great wine and a great conservation all rolled into one. We had a blast!

Enchanted Rock

On our last full day, we headed out to Enchanted Rock State Natural Area to hike up Enchanted Rock Summit Trail. The hike up is a gradual four-hundred-ish feet, and the view at the top is spectacular!
