After an amazing time in South Lake Tahoe, we had a short travel day to Reno Nevada! This was our first time staying at a casino, so we had no idea what to expect. We were impressed!

While we have heard of many casinos allowing dry camping in an RV lot, this casino has FULL hookups!

Grand Sierra Resort and Casino

With the RV Park being directly adjacent to the resort, it makes for a TON of quickly accessible amenities! Early on in our stay, we were able to get a tour of the property, including the enormous resort pool, backstage at the Grand Theater, and the driving range! Check out the video to see the incredible list of things to do there! But, one thing of note despite the nearby Dixie Fire, was the giant 180-foot “Ultimate Rush” drop swing!

Virginia City

Luckily, we had an opportunity to get out on Lucile and take a ride to Virginia City, which is an old mining town. The ride there was really nice with some good twisties and the town itself is really neat! We even took a mine tour!

Hot August Nights

While we were there, the GSR was hosting the annual Hot August Nights which is a HUGE classic car show, bringing in cars from all over the country! Chad got to explore this as well as take in some of Herman's Hermits concert, all right at the casino and right outside our door!
