Oh, Savannah!  We were so excited to get to Savannah, since neither one of us had been there before.

We were in the Savannah area for three weeks and started our stay about 45 minutes outside of the city at Gordonia Altamaha State Park in Reidsville, GA. What a nice state park! There was even a golf course just a short walk from our site, which was great for Chad mannligapotek.com!  With only a few full-hookup sites to offer at this park, we were fortunate to get (what we considered) the best spot there! (#28)

After a week in Reidsville, we moved to Skidaway Island State Park in Savannah.  Another super nice park!!!  Our site was huge, but only 30 amp and no sewer hookups.  They do offer quite a few full-hookup sites, but this park is popular and we needed to reserve those much further in advance than we did. From Skidaway, we took a motorcycle ride out to Tybee Island and Wormsloe Historic Site (think Forrest Gump).

After our week’s stay at Skidaway, we moved even closer to the Savannah Historic District to Red Gate Farms.  Yet another very nice RV park.  Red Gate is a working farm that has made an RV park out a the front portion of the property.  They have horses, chickens (you can even get some fresh eggs), goats and other animals roaming around the property.  This park was only a ten minute Uber ride to the Historic district, which we visited numerous times, even taking a trolley tour through the area.  All of the history, art and culture in this city has us wanting to go back.  There is still so much for us to explore!!

We are looking forward to getting back there (to Skidaway) in November for a Grand Design RV rally!!
