After our brief stay in San Diego, it was time for another new adventure! This time, we're off to South Lake Tahoe!

Travel Day “Fun”

It was a two-day trip to get to South Lake Tahoe. Day one was uneventful, but day two had some surprises! First, there was a big fire (Tamarak Fire) blocking our path. So, we had to re-route 100 miles out of our way, making it a long travel day!

The other travel day surprise was when our Garmin GPS identified a brothel as a rest area! While this wasn't the kind of rest we were looking for, we thought it was hilarious!

Tahoe Valley Campground

We arrived at Tahoe Valley Campground later than planned, but still daylight to spare. Tahoe Vally Campground is a Thousand Trails “Trail Collection” property and it was very nice!

It feels like a cross between a campground and an RV resort with all of the amenities offered! This would be an ideal campground for a family getaway with TONS of things to keep the kids entertained. While the RV sites are a little tight, we loved the woodsy feel with all of the very tall trees.

South Lake Tahoe

This area is beautiful and there are a ton of activities! We hit several restaurants within biking and walking distance from the campground. We also got out on the eBikes and Lucile FINALLY! 😎

Our ride day took us the 75 miles around the whole lake and, of course, to lunch! While we did have to go through some towns and traffic, the ride was awesome! Spectacular views from all sides of the lake!
