After Chad's daughters left Franklin to head back to Florida, we still had some time to spend with Chad's parents. Of course that had to include a ride on Lucile! 😎
The plan was to head south and down in elevation since it was a chilly day and we're winter weaklings. 🥶 However, as soon as we were about to exit the RV park, we got a TPMS warning. This is not uncommon when the temperature drops, so we headed back up the hill to add some air.
Everything was fine for a while then we got another warning on the same tire. So, we added some more air at a gas station and diverted back to base. We did, however, at least take the scenic route home and it turned out to be a good ride, albeit short. What's odd is that we've had no more issues with tire pressure, so we're not sure what's going on there.
Tallulah Gorge State Park
Not far from where we stay in Franklin, NC is Tallulah Gorge State Park. We've heard about this park for years, but have never visited it until now!
This was definitely one of those “holy cow! why did we wait so long?!” visits. What a beautiful state park! Tons of trails, but also TONS of stairs! But, the climbing is well worth it!
The steps take you down into the gorge to a suspension bridge over the river, then back up. The whole thing is awesome! We'll definitely go back and hike the gorge floor someday!
Panther Creek State Park
After leaving North Carolina, we headed across the mountains to Tennessee to Panther Creek State Park. This is a beautiful state park that you might recognize from our Lectric E-Bike video. Tons of hiking, biking, and even horseback riding trails (watch out for horse 💩 on some of the trails!).
