Bailing on beach camping a couple of days early, we decided to head to Texas Hill Country a little early! 🤠

Fredericksburg, Texas

With “hill country” being such a large general area, we weren't sure where to stay. So, we settled on the city that comes up in every hill country search: Fredericksburg. We decided to stay at Firefly RV Resort since we have friends meeting us there later in our stay, and they have cabins adjacent to RV sites. We get into the resort details in our next location video, so be on the lookout for that, as we have some warnings to share!

Downtown Fredericksburg has a great collection of shops and restaurants. We had a fantastic lunch at Rathskeller Bistro on our first day in town.

We can't visit Hill Country and not get out on the motorcycle! However, many well-known rides (e.g., Twisted Sister) are several hours away. So, we chose to ride up to the Willow City Loop, which is a well-known area to see the Blue Bonnets. We were both surprised at the size of the hills and the beauty of the area. The road itself looks like gravel, but it's some kind of gravel on tar. It was very smooth and in good condition for the ride.
